My Internship Adventure with My Little Camper Tenerife
After all the years of studying and gaining knowledge in the university, an internship is usually a period a lot of students are very excited about – to finally use their knowledge and skills acquired in the learning process and put them in practice.
For me, the internship with My Little Camper Tenerife has been more than just work – it has been a chance to go abroad again and live somewhere amazing while learning and growing. This small, passionate camper van company in Tenerife gave me the opportunity to work very flexibly and be part of a team, explore the island, and experience a lifestyle that’s hard to describe in words.
Working Methodology
One of the best things about this internship is its flexible structure. Although much of the work can be done independently, there is regular communication and personal interaction with the team, which makes the experience more engaging and structured.
Every day, we have short online meetings where we discuss what we are currently working on, what we accomplished the day before, and whether there are any questions or challenges. These daily check-ins help keep everyone connected, motivated, and organized.
In addition, every two weeks we have an in-person meeting with the owner, where we present the work we have done, exchange ideas, and plan tasks for the next two weeks. These meetings are a chance to get feedback, be creative, and stay on track.
Therefore, if you are someone who can manage your time well, this internship is perfect to grow professionally while enjoying the freedom to live and explore the island. But if you struggle with working on your own, it could be tricky.

Behind the Scenes of My Internship Experience

During my internship as a Marketing and Public Relations Manager at My Little Camper Tenerife, I was involved in many different activities related to communication, collaboration, and digital presence.
I started off by doing research and worked on finding and contacting potential partners and Instagram influencers for future collaborations, which gave me the chance to practice professional communication and gain confidence speaking with people I had never met before.
These conversations helped me understand how partnerships are built and maintained, and how important clear and friendly communication is in public relations. I also prepared contracts for these collaborations, which allowed me to see how professional agreements are structured in a real business environment.
Creativity played a big role in my work as well. I had the opportunity to design a complete summer campaign for 2026, including a communication plan for the company’s Instagram account with different types of content such as stories, reels, and carousel posts.
I created captions, edited videos, and produced visual content, which made the work both challenging and fun. I also developed a landing page for the campaign, which was a new and interesting experience which I had never done before.
In addition, I created posters for Facebook groups and researched online communities where the company could be promoted, helping to strengthen its visibility and reach. I also wrote blog content, which allowed me to improve my writing skills and reflect on my experience.
Overall, this internship helped me become more confident, independent, and creative while developing valuable skills in public relations, communication, and digital media.
Living in Tenerife
Tenerife is incredible. While the rest of Europe is freezing in winter, here you can enjoy the sun year-around, swim in the ocean already in January (at least for someone like me who comes from the north), and just relax outside.
The island is very diverse. The north is green and full of forests, mountains, and cute villages, while the south is drier, more touristic with endless sun and beautiful beaches. Both sides are beautiful and worth exploring, each offering its own unique beauty and atmosphere.
The internship is based in El Médano, a small town in the south part of the island known for kitesurfing and a laid-back vibe. However, you do not necessarily have to live in it since much of the work can be done remotely and you only need to be there for regular meetings.
In my case, I stayed in La Tejita, just a few kilometers away. It was nice and quiet living right next to the ocean and going for a morning or evening swim every day. From there to El Médano it is just a 10 minutes bus drive, although you have to be prepared that the buses here are always late. So I advise you to always take one bus before.

Beaches and Outdoor Activities

Tenerife has so many different beaches. Most of them are rocky, but some are sandy, and many are perfect for surfing or kitesurfing.
El Médano Beach is famous for wind sports due to its strong winds, whereas in the north Playa de Las Teresitas has golden sand. I really enjoyed the beaches of the east and south part of the island, such as Playa de La Tejita, Playa Amarilla, Playa de Diego Hernández, Playa de Abama and many others.
While being here during the winter season most of the beaches at the north side of the island were restricted due to strong currents and big waves which can be quite dangerous. But if you plan your internship later in the year, the north has tons of magnificent beaches to discover.
This makes it easy to combine work and leisure, with mornings dedicated to your tasks and afternoons spent by the ocean, swimming or simply enjoying the sunshine.
Hiking is another highlight. Anaga Rural Park located in the north part is a magnificent place for it, with green forests, winding trails, and breathtaking views of the mountains and ocean.
Another must-see is Teide National Park, home to Spain’s highest volcano. You can hike the trails there or take the cable car up for unforgettable views above the clouds. Every hike is a new adventure, and the scenery is unforgettable.
Experiencing Local Cuisine
You cannot leave Tenerife without trying local cuisine. A must is papas arrugadas con mojo sauce – a signature dish of the Canary Islands – small wrinkled potatoes with spicy or garlicky sauce which taste amazing.
The Canary Islands also offer many fresh seafood dishes and traditional recipes that reflect Spanish and African influences. Therefore, exploring local food is an important part of the adventure.

Fun and Adventure

Tenerife is not only about nature – it also offers world-famous attractions. Siam Park – a Thai-style water park that feels like a tropical resort, filled with palm trees and stunning architecture and, of course, well known for the famous Tower of Power slide which is terrifying but so much fun if you’re brave enough to try it.
For a completely different but equally memorable experience, you can visit Loro Parque – one of Europe’s most famous animal parks, home to parrots, dolphins, penguins, orcas, and many conservation programs.
There is so much to see and do in both of these places, so I recommend a full day for each.
Final Thoughts
Looking back, my time at My Little Camper Tenerife has been unforgettable. The internship allowed me to develop my skills in public relations, communication, and digital media while taking on very different and creative projects.
The combination of flexible working, daily communication with the team, and regular in-person meetings gave me both independence and structure, and being part of a small, passionate team showed me how much creativity and initiative can shape the business.
At the same time, living in Tenerife gave me the chance to explore the island, enjoy the sun, swim in the ocean, and experience its beautiful landscapes, culture, and cuisine firsthand.
If you are considering an internship with My Little Camper Tenerife, or an internship abroad in general, I can say this with certainty: it’s worth it.
The combination of work, creativity, and the incredible lifestyle on the island makes this an experience that stays with you long after the internship ends. From the green forests of Anaga to the beaches of the south, from the thrill of Siam Park to the wonder of Loro Parque, every day offers something new.
This internship showed me that professional growth and personal adventure can go hand in hand, creating memories and skills that last a lifetime.
